The world needs a little poetry to remain beautiful. A single word can lead to a million ideas, a simple suggestion can inspire a myriad of emotions. Sonnets about Nothing, a collection of poetry by Asheesh Santram, aptly illustrates this. Based on random words suggested to the author by different people, the poems in this book encompass an infinite variety of thoughts, emotions and expressions in a few lines. With poems on contemporary events such as the June 2013 deluge ('Rain'), social issues ('Rage'), timeless concepts ('Love', Loyalty', 'Evolution') and responses to other timeless classics ('I too Sit and Look Out'), there is something for every reader and poetry lover. The idea and feelings behind each poem are explained by the poet, helping the reader to understand them better. While the poems are personal and subjective, they have a universal appeal. Sonnets about Nothing is sure to touch the heart of everyone who picks it up.
